The Organizing committee has been closely and continuously monitoring the COVID19 situation as it has developed both globally and in Russia. Now the 33rd European Meeting of Statisticians (EMS2022) is planned as normal offline Congress. In case the situation will be developed in a negative way, we will change the format into hybrid format.

I believe that the science helps to break the borders and bring different people from different countries together for a broad and fruitful discussion.

After «gold Soviet period», Russian science had a hard time, many scientists left Russia.

Now we observe strong attempts in recovering the Russian academic traditions in mathematics and other areas.

As before, there is a great number of young talented students. А new generation of active researchers is raising.

Such an event, as European Congress of Statistics will certainly be of great interest.

We welcome all our colleagues to come to Moscow for the EMS2022 and enjoy the high-level scientific program and a great number of Moscow attractions.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology has become a world-wide known center of mathematics, computer science, and applications. Our Phystech-School attracts every year best students from all over the world and organizes many important events in Russia and abroad. We are proud of being the host institute for the Congress!

Scientific congresses and conferences are not only places where scientists are able to present their scientific achievements but mostly the areas where is possible meet colleagues and friend from different regions and countries ore make new ones. It is the reason for me to make my best not only in functional component of Congress but also to create convenient and comfortable conditions for informal communications and acquaintance with Russian hospitality!
